This is a Powerful, yet spooky and somewhat cheesy science fiction film made in 1936, produced by Alexander Korda based on the H. G. Wells classic book & brought to the silver screen as a vision of what warfare will bring mankind in the century to follow. That is to say the century that has now gone. The story shows the destructive nature of war and how is will catapult us back to a state of barbarism, warlords, and another Black Deathesque plague called the "Wandering Sickness." However, because MAN clings to science, MAN will rise above all this and create a new, modern society free of warfare. (again?) The film does have a lot of historical inaccuracies to its "dis"credit, but much of what is preaches is scarily plausible, and much of it has become prophetic. The theme that man can prevail and keep discovering/conquering new vistas is a laughable in hindsight. The film shows that progress and science are the things which advance us as a people. Personally I love the idea that the scientists and/or inventors had formed their own civilization, free of corruption and violence. I just wonder who does the cleaning up. The pace of the film is a little slow at times, but have watched it several times it is still very very compelling. The set designs are outstanding in the futuristic world of 2036(where they valiantly try to put a rocket in space to make a preliminary orbit around the moon). The acting is rather good considering the time it was made. (Having just come out of "talkies" and still having a tendency to chew the scenery and everything within a 5 mile radius.) Raymond Massey and Cedric Hardwicke giving great performances, but it is Ralph Richardson as a "Boss" who deserves the most praise for giving a powerful performance of a man with inherent human traits that just ruin progress. A thought provoking film and quite spooky in it's observation of human nature. Of course HG Wells was a genius indeed!

AYURVEDIC FOODS AND HEALING RECIPE'S
Ayurveda, the five thousand-year-old healing tradition from India linked to the development of yoga, is based on the concept that one's physical, mental, and spiritual well-being comes from a number of sources, including a healthful diet based on one's individual constitution. In this vegetarian cookbook, Amrita Sondhi, author of The Modern Ayurvedic Cookbook (now in its fourth printing), provides new twists on traditional Ayurvedic recipes that are also inspired by the growing popularity of whole grains (quinoa, spelt, and barley) and raw foods.
The Ayurvedic diet is based on the concept of three "doshas": vata (air), pitta (fire), and kapha (earth). Each of us has a primary dosha that we can strive to maintain at a healthy balance, but which can cause problems if excessive. The book includes a questionnaire so readers can determine their own primary dosha and then look for recipes that will help them to maintain or reduce it for optimal health.
Recipes include modern interpretations of Indian cuisine (spicy paneer zucchini kabobs and mango and coconut kulfi), and Ayurvedic spins on vegetarian fare (sprouted barley rainbow pilaf and raw zucchini hummus). The book also includes yoga and breathing exercises that one can easily do at home or at work, full-color recipe photos, and information on sprouting/fermenting techniques and backyard gardening.
The Tastes of Ayurveda offers simple and delicious ways to achieve a more healthful and serene life.

GIGANTIC GOLD NUGGET FLOATING IN SPACE?
ASTEROID ORBITING
EARTH?
An asteroid known as Asteroid 1986DA
has been found to contain some 100,000
tonnes of platinum and 10,000 tonnes of
gold.
The 2km long 'space nugget' would be
worth approx $120 billion on today's market.
The asteroid's orbit brings it tantalisingly
close to Earth, a mere 32 million kilometres
away. It is hoped that the development
of robotic engineering will one day harvest
the orbiting fortune.
Scientists speculate that this asteroid was
once the core of a 'proto planet' measuring
up to 500km across.

Radar measurements suggest it is composed of nickel and iron and that it was derived from the center of a much larger object that experienced melting and differentiation. The observed radar albedo was 0.58 and the optical albedo was 0.14.[1]
This asteroid was most probably formed from a larger body through a catastrophic collision with another object. Radar measurements of this body indicate that the surface is relatively smooth on scales of less than a meter, but it is highly irregular on scales of 10–100 meters.
The delta-v for a spacecraft rendezvous with this asteroid from low earth orbit is 7.1 km/s.[2]
1986 DA reached perihelion in its orbit on March 6, 2005.
Asteroid 1986 DA achieved its most notable recognition when scientists revealed that it contained over "10,000 tons of gold and 100,000 tons of platinum", or an approximate value at the time of its discovery of "$90 billion for the gold and a cool trillion dollars for the platinum, plus loose change for the asteroid's 10 billion tons of iron and a billion tons of nickel."[3]
In 2012 the estimated value of 100,000 tons of platinum was worth approximately five trillion US dollars.

THE OLDEST BOOK IN THE WORLD!!!
Although this book is of very small stature (in regards to pages), it packs some of the most MIND -BLOWING historical information I've ever read!!! All backed by reference materials from other Authors, who substantiate it all!!! Dr. Hilliard DEFINITELY did his homework, research, examinations...whatever you'd like to call it...all in this "Little-Big Book!!! I am presently preparing to purchase all his reference materials used to write this book as well...so that I can truthfully say..."I heard it from the Horse's Mouth!!!" If you as a reader, who strives to know the truth, and nothing but the truth, then get this book!!!!!!!!!! What was taught in History Class, when I went to school, was ALWAYS SUSPECT to me then. After reading this book, confirms what I felt back then...and DEFINITELY NOW!!! A simple read, with a lot of guidance to teaching or educating you how to live in "Everyday Life," or what your "Bible" taught you about in the "Ten Commandments." I believe that many will not want to hear this truth, but I am not one of the "Many." I hope that you are not too. Get the book...you won't be disappointed!!!!!! EXCERPTS FROM THE BOOK.... Then he addressed his son: Do not be proud on account of your knowledge,
but discuss with the ignorant as with the wise.The limits of art cannot be delivered;
there is no artist whose talent is fulfilled.
Fine words are more sought after than greenstone,
but can be found with the women at the grindstone. If you meet an opponent in his moment A director of heart who is superior to you,
bend your arms and bow;
do not take up your heart against him,
for he will not be swayed for you.
You can belittle bad speaking
by not clashing with him in his moment;
it will mean he is called a fool,
when your self-restraint has subdued his excess. If you are to be among leaders at a command for the condition of the multitude,
seek out for yourself every effective moment,
until your condition reaches faultlessness.
What is right is great, and (its) keenness enduring.
It has not been overturned since the time of Osiris.
The one who overlooks laws is punished;
that is what is overlooked in the sight of the greedy.
It is the small-minded that seize riches,
but crime never managed to land its rewards.
Whoever says 'I snare for myself'
does not say 'I snare for my needs'.
The final part of what is right is its endurance;
of which a man says 'that is my father' If you are weak, follow a man of excellence and all your conduct will be good before god.
When you have known lesser men before,
do not be proud against him,
from what you knew of him before.
Respect him according to what he has become,
for goods do not come of their own accord.
This is their law for their desire.
An overflow - he has assembled it of himself.
It is the god who makes him excellent,
and protects him while he sleeps.
BRAIN POWER BOOST.
Three Ways You Can Increase Mind Power
Author: Chia Ti WahAre you looking for ways to increase mind power? Today, I will be sharing with you three ways you can do just that. They are pretty easy, and if you follow them, you should be able to see the results pretty quickly. Anyway, check out the rest of the article to learn more!
The first suggestion I have for you if you want to increase mind power is to try out some meditation techniques. Meditation is used to help mental patients who have issues such as depression or anxiety disorder. Meditation will calm your mind and your soul, boost your creativity, help you handle stress, and even boost your energy levels. You could say that it indirectly improves your overall health and wellbeing. Do you notice that people who practice meditation seldom get angry or lose their cool? Wouldn\'t you want to be like them?
The next way to increase mind power is to simply give yourself enough rest. If you are constantly overworking yourself, your brain will tire out, and you may end up not being able to focus on doing simple tasks that you once found easy to do. When that happens, that is a sign that you should listen to your body, stop whatever you are doing, and take a breather. Be sure that you give your body enough sleep. Sleep is like a detox for your brain. Now when you sleep, the rest of your body repairs itself as well, so sleep is good not just for the brain, but for the rest of your body as well.
Lastly, I would also like to encourage you to be curious and do not take things on the surface. Learn to be curious like a child, and find out why things are happening the way they are. While you are at it, force yourself to find out the answers yourself without asking anyone else. This helps you to be an independent and street smart thinker. You could end up becoming more innovative and even think of ideas that hardly anyone else can think of too. Learning to be curious has the same potential effects as challenging yourself to complete difficult puzzles and brain-boosting games. Also, think of it this way. If Thomas Edison had not been curious, do you think the light bulb would have been created?
I hope you have benefitted from my sharing on ways you can increase mind power. Give these points a try and tell me how they have benefitted you.

KARMA, THE CIRCLE OF LIFE
The Idea Behind Karma, the Circle of Life
Author: Mark JordanKarma is followed and understood by millions of people throughout the world. Many Christian cultures have assumed an idea of karma. For many, it is a more understandable idea than eternal damnation for the bad. For others it is simply natural that the wicked will be punished in some way and the good rewarded. So how does Karma fit into the cycle of life?
Karma is the notion that deeds (or actions) create the cycle of cause and effect. The cycle of cause and effect already exists, but the causes of the cycle are actions or deeds. Performing positive deeds beget good results in one\'s life, whereas negative actions beget negative effects. The effects may be quick or delayed until later in life, or in the afterlife. Therefore, good actions may mean rebirth into a higher position in life, such as a better human, while evil actions may result in rebirth as a human living in more poor conditions. Scholars have compared karma to Western notions of sin and judgment by God; still others view karma as an inherent principle of the universe with no intervention of any God. In Hinduism, God is seen as a dispenser of karma. In Buddhism and Jainism, a god does not intervene.
Several traditions, including Indian, believe a higher being plays some role in karma, like a dispenser of the fruits of karma. In general, followers of Buddhism and many Hindus consider the natural laws of causation enough to explain the effects of karma. Some views proclaim that a higher person acting on God\'s behalf can work out some of the karma of the subject. There are examples of karmic retribution and that type of correlation mentioned in the Bible.
Philosophical ideas of karma could be different between traditions, but the basic idea is the same. In the Law of Karma, the effects of all actions and deeds beget past, present, and future effects, therefore forcing a person to be responsible for his or her own life, and the pain or joy it brings him or her, as well as others. The results or 'fruits' of actions are called 'karma-phala'. In religions that believe in reincarnation, karma acts in a person\'s present life and all past and future lives as well. All living creatures are responsible for their karma. The western Christian idea teaches karma as the Law of Cause and Effect. The difference is that this western tradition adds on the idea that the teachings of Christ professed that the cycle of sin and death may be ended through God\'s love, which will impart immortality.
To accept the logical idea behind karma is to behave responsibly. If we accept the idea of the Law of Karma which is essentially, 'if you do good things, good things will happen to you and if you do bad things, bad things will happen to you', then it is easy to find parallels with other religions that do not rely on karma as a doctrine. Just as the Christian apostle Paul stated 'man reaps what he sows', karma does not concern itself with the idea of salvation. It is more of a social and ethical dynamic. The Law of Karma is the judge of one\'s deeds, similar to the idea of the Christian God as judge of good and bad actions. Most teachers proclaim that being subject to karma is not avoidable and is part of daily living. Each human is advised to avoid, control or become aware of the results of desires and aversions as a way to change karmic destiny.
Hindus believe that the Universe and everything in it is in a state of creation, maintenance, or destruction. The mind itself creates a thought, maintains it for some time, and then the thought dies, maybe replaced by other thoughts. In addition to these three states of consciousness, Hinduism adds a fourth state called Turiya. This is pure consciousness where the mind is not engaged in thinking but just observing thoughts. Actions or deeds while in the Turiya state do not create karma. The idea behind meditation is to give individuals the experience of being in this objective state. If your actions happen as a response to events and not from a thought process, you will not accumulate karma. If you can constantly maintain this state you are considered in moksha.
Karma can also be thought of in a metaphysical way. Since karma is a force of nature and not an entity capable of making judgments (like a person could), karma is not about good and evil actions. Applying those labels would be judgmental. It is about positive and negative energy. Negative energy can include things not normally thought of as 'being bad' like fear or depression. Positive energy can be released by creativity, love or virtuous acts. This concept is referred to as omniverse karma or omni-karma since it requires the existence of a space that contains all possible universes or omni-universe. The omniverse philosophy includes ideas involving psychic energy and ability, souls, synchronicity (things that occur at the same time are related), as well as concepts from quantum physics.
It may not be wise to ignore the idea of karma since it may be part of the driving force in the cycle of life and where your own cycle may take you now and in the future.

TOP 5 THINGS YOUR FAMILY CAN DO TO SURVIVE
5 Things Your Family Can Do To Prepare!
Author: Sean BaileyPreparing for a disaster and emergency situation is a great way to protect your family. Learn 5 things your family can do to prepare for a disaster situation so you can know at all times that your family is ready for those \'just in case\' moments.
Have an escape plan- really. Too often, families discuss which door they will run out of if a fire occurs or a burglar enters the home, but a plan is rarely ever created. Sit down with your family and actually draw out several escape plans for various disaster situations and make a copy for each family member to have in their room.
Your food and monetary storage should last you a while. At all times you should have 3 months\' worth of food and money set aside just in case you need it. Even a job loss is considered a disaster, so make sure you have the money you need to pay bills for 3 months (or to have handy for emergency use). Also, have 3 months\' worth of food and water on hand so your family doesn\'t starve in the event of job loss, an earthquake, or other disaster.
Do you have a first aid kit? This sounds so simple, but too many families have a stock of bandages and peroxide handy and call it good. You need to have a real first aid kit, complete with bandages, gauze, liquid stitches, and more to ensure that you really have what you need ready.
Emergency contacts for those scary moments. Place a list of trusted emergency contacts on your fridge (and notify these people that they have been chosen as well), so your young children can know who to call in case something happens to Mommy or Daddy. In moments of panic, children should know that they can call emergency services first, and then emergency contacts so they do not feel alone.
Maintain the instinct to survive. For yourself, your family and your fellow countrymen!
Equip your car for disaster as well. Disaster situations don\'t just happen in the home, they happen in the car as well. Keep a blanket, fresh water, a flare, first aid kit, and other emergency items in your car so in the event of getting lost, running out of gas, or a car accident, you can keep your family safe and warm. You never know when a disaster will strike, and you want to be ready at all times in all areas.

The Illusion of Identity
The Illusion of Identity
Author: Lisa RaphaelIn these times of increasing efforts to monitor and control us, it seems especially important to realize that who we are has nothing to do with the documents, numbers, reports or beliefs through which we are identified.
Who we are is beyond definition.
I recently dreamed that I found myself in totally unfamiliar territory with all my documents, keys and cards gone. There was not way to identify myself. Yet rather than feeling fearful, as I have in the past in real or dream life when Imisplaced or lost these, I felt strangely free.
Our ID, our Id- entity is a grand illusion. A lifeless thing composed of conscious and unconscious conditioning - through fear - of not being loved or accepted if we do not comply with familial, social, cultural or religious rules and beliefs.
An increasingly common phenomenon in spiritual circles are name changes. Some get new names from gurus. Or in meditation. Or simply make them up based on who we think we are now. These names can change as our authentic inner self blossoms and expands. Rarely to these names conform with legal names or identity. Even this is an illusion, however. ANY name, ANY self definition in words is necessarily only an approximation of who we are, since who we are is infinite, and without form.
I first experienced beingness beyond identity twenty five years ago at the Grand Canyon. Sitting quietly off the path, absorbed in the changing shadows over the canyon, time stopped. It was not until I began to feel chilled that I realized I had been there for several hours. When I got up I felt I had been truly seen for the first time in my life. Somehow, in the silence, in the absence of thought, feeling, motion or human contact, I had made contact with my Self.
My path since then has taken me many unfamiliar places where I have been unknown. And as I create new bios, vitae, business cards, web sites and continue to acquire documents requiring name, social security number, etc. the challenge is to be my authentic SELF without getting trapped in the illusion that these FORMS of identification are who I am.
I am not alone in this dilemma. More and more of us are awakening to a larger reality while needing to function within the matrix of cultural norms. Living off the grid physically is technologically possible. Living free of the grid of conscious and unconscious belief is an ongoing challenge.

COULD THE "BIG ONE" HIT THE EAST COAST?
September 16, 2013 – BOSTON – A plume of hot material rising from deep within the earth scarred the underside of the North American tectonic plate as it drifted westward millions of years ago, suggests research published today in Nature Geoscience. The residual heat still affects seismic waves travelling through the continent, even though the mantle plume is now under the Atlantic Ocean. When such mantle plumes occur beneath thin oceanic crust, they often punch through and create volcanoes — the Hawaiian Islands are a prime example. But older, colder and thicker continental crust is not so easily breached, says Risheng Chu, a geophysicist at the Institute of Geodesy and Geophysics in Wuhan, China. The only signs on land of ancient hotspot paths typically are kimberlites — volcanic and sometimes diamond-bearing rocks that mark the site of an ancient, deep-seated eruption. But Chu and his colleagues inferred the path of a hotspot beneath eastern North America using a different sort of evidence — the speed of seismic waves, which travel more slowly in warmer rock. The data were gathered by dozens of seismometers in the USArray network, most of them along a stretch from Louisiana to Wisconsin, during the magnitude-5.6 quake that jolted central Virginia on 23 August 2011. Their analysis indicates that seismic waves travelling west from the earthquake’s source in Virginia towards Missouri arrived at seismometers later and with lower intensity than expected. Such vibration-damping behavior suggests the presence of a broad lane of warm rocks running east to west, about 200 kilometers beneath Kentucky — a depth that roughly coincides with the lower surface of the tectonic plate. Seismic waves travelling north and south of this lane arrived on time or slightly ahead of schedule.
Seismometers northeast of the Virginia quake’s epicentre also detected slow, stifled seismic waves, suggesting another hotspot track in that direction as well. The researchers suggest that the continent moving over the hotspot cut a path that swooped east-southeast from central Missouri (90 million years ago) to eastern Kentucky (some 70 million years ago), arced northeastward to Massachusetts (60 million to 50 million years ago) and then swerved eastward and moved offshore. A kimberlite deposit in eastern Kentucky, dated to about 75 million years ago, bolsters the notion that a hotspot lay below the region during that time, Chu and his colleagues contend. The evidence supporting the purported hotspot’s path is interesting but circumstantial, says Randel Cox, a geologist at the University of Memphis in Tennessee. “I’m still trying to keep an open mind about this [idea], but there are alternate explanations” for the seismic slowdown beneath Kentucky and the Virginia–Massachusetts corridor, he notes. For instance, seismic vibrations in the region could be scattered by features deep within or below Earth’s crust, such as a ‘crumple zone’ of rocks where one tectonic plate collided with another. Regardless, he adds, researchers need more data, from more than one earthquake, to produce a thorough subterranean map of the eastern United States. -Nature
Is there a blow torch under North America that causes rare, but deadly, earthquakes? Some geologists think they might have found the buried track of just such a hotspot from Missouri to Virginia. A team of Chinese and American scientists think they have found the track of a hotspot hidden in the very old, thick crust of Eastern United States, based on seismic data from the 2011 Virginia 5.6-magnitude earthquake. That event essentially lit up the structure of the crust in that part of North America for the USArray seismic network to see. The seismic anomaly, as it is called, cuts through the New Madrid rift system, which is responsible for some of the most powerful earthquakes in North American history. It also crosses a 75-million-year-old diamond-bearing formation in Kentucky. –Discovery

THE HEALING POWER OF TURMERIC
The powers of some foods to heal and nourish are so impressive and varied that these foods should be included in our weekly if not daily diets without exception. In recent years, modern science has uncovered so many remarkable qualities in turmeric in particular for the spice’s amazing potential to prevent and heal various health issues. Some research even shows how turmeric can boost oral health greatly, offering support for issues like gingivitis, mouth cancer, and much more.Though turmeric is most commonly thought of as a curry spice, it’s versatile and can be added to anything from fish and eggs to smoothies and salads. Further research indicates the more time turmeric spends in your mouth, the healthier that mouth might be.
Last year, in the Journal of Indian Society of Periodontology, a study showed that turmeric could be as, if not more, effective as a traditional mouthwash in the treatment of gingivitis.
Gingivitis is a periodontal disease characterized by bad breath, bleeding, and inflamed gums. Left untreated it can lead to more destructive periodontal disease. Generally, mouthwashes using chlorexidine are used to treat this condition. And while complications involving this compound are rare, they can include anaphylactic reactions.
The study had subjects rinse their mouths twice daily with either a 0.1% curcumin (turmeric) extract mouthwash or a traditional mouthwash solution using 0.2% chlorexidine. Despite the chlorexidine solution being twice as concentrated as the turmeric solution, the turmeric solution outperformed the traditional mouthwash in all three measurements. The turmeric reduced plaque, gingivitis symptoms, and bacterial activity at rates greater than the traditional mouthwash.
Despite this, the researchers, “in the characteristically conservative style of academia”, suggested turmeric mouthwash had “comparable anti-plaque, anti-inflammatory, and anti-microbial properties” as the traditional chlorexidine mouthwash.
Although the researchers didn’t come out and say turmeric was more effective than the traditional mouthwash, their numbers spoke for them. Plus, when you consider all of the health benefits of this brightly hued root, the benefits of such a mouthwash could be multiplied when you swallow it after your rinse!

LOST CITY IN THE GRAND CANYON
Lost Grand Canyon City Cover Up
ARIZONA GAZETTE, MONDAY EVENING, APRIL 5, 1909
The latest news of the progress of the explorations of what is now regarded by scientists as not only the oldest archaeological discovery in the United States, but one of the most valuable in the world, which was mentioned some time ago in the Gazette, was brought to the city yesterday by G.E. Kinkaid, the explorer who found the great underground citadel of the Grand Canyon during a trip from Green River, Wyoming, down the Colorado in a wooden boat, to Yuma, several months ago.
According to the story yesterday to the Gazette by Mr. Kinkaid, the archaeologist of the Smithsonian Institute, which is financing the explorations, have made discoveries which almost conclusively prove that the race which inhabited this mysterious cavern, hewn in solid rock by human hands, was of Oriental origin or possibly from Egypt tracing back to Ramses. If their theories are borne out of the translation of the tablets engraved with hieroglyphics, the mystery of the prehistoric peoples of North America, their ancient arts, who they were and whence they came, will be solved. Egypt and the Nile and Arizona and the Colorado will be linked by a historical chain running back to ages which staggers the wildest fancy of the fictionist.
A Thorough Investigation
Under the direction of professor S.A. Jordan, the Smithsonian Institute is now prosecuting the most thorough explorations, which will be continued until the last link in the chain has been forged. Nearly a mile underground, about 1480 feet below the surface, the long main passage has been delved into, to find another mammoth chamber from which radiates scores of passageways, like the spokes of a wheel. Several hundred rooms have been discovered, reached by passageways running from the main passage, one of them having been explored for 854 feet and another 634 feet.
The recent finds include articles which have never been known as native to this country and doubtless they had their origin in the Orient. War weapons, copper instruments sharp edged and hard as steel, indicate the high state of civilization reached by these strange people. So interested have the scientists become that preparations are being made to equip the camp for extensive studies and the force will be increased to thirty or forty persons. Before going further into the cavern, better facilities for lighting have to be installed, for the darkness is dense and impenetrable for the average flash light. In order to avoid being lost, wires are being strung from the entrance to all passageways leading directly to large chambers. How far this cavern extends no one can guess, but it is now the belief of many that what has already been explored is merely the “Barracks”, to use an American term, for the soldiers, and that far into the underworld will be found the main communal dwellings of the families and possibly other shrines. The perfect ventilation of the cavern, the steady drought that blows through, indicates that it has another outlet to the surface.
Mr. Kinkaids Report
Mr. Kinkaid was the first white child born in Idaho and has been an explorer and hunter all his life. Thirty years having been in the service of the Smithsonian Institute. Even briefly recounted, his history sounds fabulous, almost grotesque.
“First, I would impress that the cavern is almost inaccessible. The entrance is almost 1486 feet down a shear canyon wall. It is located on government land and no visitor will be allowed there under penalty of trespass. The scientists wish to work unmolested, without fear of the archaeological discoveries being disturbed by curio or relic hunters. A trip there would be fruitless and the visitor would be sent on his way.
The story of how I found the cavern has already been recounted, but in a paragraph: I was journeying down the Colorado river in a boat, alone, looking for mineral. Some forty two miles up the river from El Tovar Crystal canyon, I saw on the east wall, stains in the sedimentary formation about 2000 feet above the river bed. There was no trail to this point, but I finally reached it with great difficulty. Above a shelf, which hid it from view of the river, was the mouth of the cave. There are steps leading from this entrance some thirty yards from what was at the time the cavern was inhabited, the level of the river. When I saw the chisel marks on the wall inside the entrance, I became interested, secured my gun and went in. During that trip I went back several hundred feet along the main passage, till I came to the main crypt in which I discovered the mummies. One of these I stood up and photographed by flashlight. I gathered a number of relics, which I carried down the Colorado to Yuma, from whence I shipped them to Washington with details of the discovery. Following this, the explorations were undertaken”. National Treasure [Blu-ray + DVD]
The Passages
“The main passageway is about 12 feet wide, narrowing to 9 feet toward the farther end. About 57 feet from the entrance, the first passages branch off to the right and left, along which, on both sides, are a number of rooms about the size of ordinary living rooms of today, though some are 30 to 40 feet square.
These are entered by oval shaped doors and are ventilated by round air spaces through the walls into the passages. The walls are about 3 feet 6 inches in thickness. The passages are chiseled or hewn as straight as could be laid out by any engineer. The ceilings of many of the rooms converge to a center. The side passages near the entrance run at a sharp angle from the main hall, but toward the rear they gradually reach a right angle in direction”.
The Shrine
“Over a hundred feet from the entrance is a cross-hall, several hundred feet long, in which was found the idol, or image, of the peoples god, sitting cross-legged, with a Lotus flower or Lily in each hand. The cast of the face is Oriental, and the carving shows a skillful hand, and the entire is remarkably well preserved, as is everything in this cavern. The idol most resembles Buddha, though the scientists are not certain as to what religious worship it represents. Taking into consideration everything found thus far, it is possible that the worship most resembles the ancient people of Thibet. Surrounding this idol are smaller images, some beautiful in form, other crooked necked and distorted shapes, symbolical, probably, of good and evil. There are two large cacti with protruding arms, one on each side of the dais on which the god squats. All this is carved out of hard rock resembling marble.
In the opposite corner of this cross-hall were found tools of all descriptions, made of copper. This people undoubtedly knew the lost art of hardening this metal, which has been sought by chemists for centuries without result. On a bench running around the workroom was some charcoal and other material probably used in the process. There is also slag and stuff similar to matte, showing that these ancient peoples smelted ores, but so far, no trace of where of how this was done has been discovered, nor the origin of the ore. Among other finds are vases or urns and cups of copper and gold made very artistic in design. The pottery work includes enameled ware and glazed vessels.
Another passageway leads to granaries such as are found in the Oriental temples. They contain seeds of various kinds. One very large storehouse has not been entered, as it is twelve feet high and can be reached only from above. Two copper hooks extend on the edge, (continued on page 7) which indicates that some sort of ladder was attached. These granaries are rounded and the materials of which they are constructed, I think, is a very hard cement. A grey metal is also found in this cavern which puzzles the scientists, for it’s identity has not been established. It resembles platinum. Strewn promiscuously over the floor everywhere are what people call “Cats eyes” or “Tiger eyes”, a yellow stone of no great value. Each one is engraved with a head of a Malay type.”
The Hieroglyphics
“On all the urns, on the walls over the doorways and tablets of stone which were found by the image are mysterious hieroglyphics, the key to which the Smithsonian Institution hopes yet to discover. These writings resemble those found on the rocks about this valley. The engraving on the tablets probably has something to do with the religion of the people, Similar hieroglyphics have been found in the peninsula of Yucatan, but these are not found in the Orient. Some believe that these cave dwellers built the old canals in the Salt River valley. Among the pictorial writings only two animals are found. One is of prehistoric type”.
The Crypt
“The tomb or crypt in which the mummies are found is one of the largest of the chambers, the walls slanting back at an angle of about 35 degrees. One these are tiers of mummies, each one occupying a separate hewn shelf. At the head of each is a small bench on which is found copper cups and pieces of broken swords. Some of the mummies are covered with clay and all are wrapped in a bark fabric. The urns or cups on the lower tiers are crude, while as the higher shelves are reached, the urns are finer in design showing a interstage of civilization. It is worthy of note that all the mummies examined so far have proved to be male, no children or females being buried here. This leads to the belief that this interior section was the warriors barracks.
Among the discoveries no bones of animals have been found, no skins, no clothing nor bedding. Many of the rooms are bare but for the water vessels. One room, about 400 by 700 feet, was probably the main dining hall for cooking utensils are found here. What these people lived on is a problem, though it is presumed that they came south for the winter and farmed in the valleys, going back north in the summer. Upwards of 50,000 people could have lived in the cavern comfortably.
One theory is that the present Indian tribe found in Arizona are descendants of the serfs or slaves of the people which inhabited the cave. Undoubtedly a good many thousands of years before the Christian era a people lived here which reached a high state of civilization. The chronology of human history is full of gaps. Prof. Jordan is much enthused over the discoveries and believes that the find will prove of incalculable value in archaeological work.
One thing I have spoken of may be of interest. There is one chamber the passageways to which is not ventilated and when we approach it a deadly, snaky smell struck us. Our lights would not penetrate the gloom and until stronger ones are available, we will not know what the chamber contains. Some say snakes, but others boo-hoo this idea and think that it may contain a deadly gas or chemicals used by the ancients. No sounds are heard, but it smells snaky just the same.
The whole underground institution gives one of shaky nerves the creeps. The gloom is like a weight on ones shoulders and our flashlights and candles only make the darkness blacker.
Imagination can revel in conjectures and ungodly day-dreams back through the ages that have elapsed till the mind reels dizzily in space”.
An Indian Legend
In connection with this story, it is notable that among the Hopis the tradition is told that their ancestors once lived in an underworld in the Grand Canyon till dissension arose between the good and the bad, the people of one heart, the people of two hearts. (Manchoto) who was their chief, counselled them to leave the underworld, but there was no way out. The chief then caused a tree to grow up and pierce the roof of the underworld and then the people of one heart climbed out. They tarried by Palsiaval (Red River), which is the Colorado, and grew grain and corn. They sent out a message to the temple of the sun, asking the blessing of peace, good will and rain for the people of one heart. That messenger never returned but, today at the Hopi village, at sundown can be seen the old men of the tribe out on the housetops gazing towards the sun, looking for the messenger. When he returns, their land and ancient dwelling place will be restored to them. That is the tradition.
Among the engravings of animals in the cave is seen a image of a heart over the spot where it is located. The legend was learned by W.E. Rollins, the artist, during a year spent with the Hopi Indians. There are two theories of the origin of the Egyptians. One is that they came from Asia: another is that the racial cradle was in the upper Nile region. Heeren, an Egyptologist, believed in the Indian origin of the Egyptians. The discoveries in the Grand Canyon may throw further light on human evolution and prehistoric ages.”
The Smithsonian Says they have no record of this happening and stories of a massive cover up have be around since the story made print in 1909. I guess one must pose the question as to why this finding must be supressed for over 100 years. Perhaps solid proof of things that proved lies in the history of our word, or a alien base kept hidden for who knows how long before it’s discovery in 1909. In a world that fears solid proof more each day, we man never know.

What Would Happen To Your Body If You Stopped Going Outside?
The bottom line (no pun intended) is that we, as a nation, sit down way too much. We’re just as guilty as the next person of sitting down at our desks for nine hours straight to then go home and sit in front of the TV for another three hours.
A fantastic video by AsapSCIENCE has revealed what happens to your body if you don’t go outside. In short, leading a more sedentary lifestyle leads to premature death.
It reveals the chain reaction that sunlight has on your body – with vitamin D, the cholesterol in your body is then able to help the body absorb calcium – and if you don’t tend to go outdoors, it can massively impact your immune system, which has a knock on effect on cancer, heart disease and depression.
“Being in nature had a mental and physical effect on the body,” they say.
So down your tools, and step outside for a breathe

Leticia a. Williams ” a winter of crows”
I have a personal relationship with the author of this book that’s Moor than mere family ties. There is pain in her honesty that goes beyond the words written in these pages. On more than one occasion this little book made me question where I have been and where i’m going. It’s a heartfelt collection of poems composed in a great time of change that i’m sure will have a positive effect on your life
In this debut collection of poetry, the author presents time as a rite of passage, where all matter of existence bears lessons for all. A speck of time. The joy of life. The sorrow of death

The Hidden Light
The Hidden Light
God said, “Let there be light!” And there was light.
[Genesis 1:3]
This is the light that the Blessed Holy One created at first. It is the light of the eye. It is the light that the
Blessed Holy One showed the first Adam; with it he saw from one end of the world to the other. It is the
light that the Blessed Holy One showed David; he sang its praise: “How great is Your good that You
have concealed for those who fear You!”
[Psalms 31:20]
It is the light that the Blessed Holy One showed Moses; with it he saw from Gilead to Dan. But when the
Blessed Holy One saw that three wicked generations would arise: the generation of Enosh, the
generation of the Flood, and the generation of the Tower of Babel, He hid the light away so they would
not make use of it. The Blessed Holy One gave it to Moses and he used it for the three unused months of
his gestation, as it is said: “She concealed him for three months”
[Exodus 2:2]
When three months had passed, he was brought before Pharaoh and the Blessed Holy One took it away
from him until he stood on Mt. Sinai to receive the Torah. Then He gave him back that light; he wielded
it his whole life long and the children of Israel could not come near him until he put a veil over his face,
as it is said: “They were afraid to come near him”
[Exodus 34:30]
He wrapped himself in it as in a tallit, as it is written: “He wraps Himself in light as in a garment”
[Psalms 104:2]
“‘Let there be light!’ And there was light.” Every subject of the phrase “And there was exists in this
world and in the world that is coming.
Rabbi Isaac said, “The light created by the Blessed Holy One in the act of Creation flared from one end
of the world to the other and was hidden away. Why was it hidden away? So the wicked of the world
would not enjoy it and the worlds would not enjoy it because of them. It is stored away for the righteous,
for the Righteous One! As it is written: ‘Light is sown for the righteous one, joy for the upright in heart’
[Psalms 97:11]
Then the worlds will be fragrant, and all will be one. But until the day when the world that is coming
arrives, it is stored and hidden away….”
Rabbi Judah said “If it were completely hidden the world would not exist for even a moment! Rather, it
is hidden and sown like a seed that gives birth to seeds and fruit. Thereby the world is sustained. Every
single day, a ray of that light shines into the world and keeps everything alive, for with that ray the
Blessed Holy One feeds the world. And everywhere that Torah is studied at night one thread-thin ray
appears from that hidden light and flows down upon those absorbed in her, as it is written: ‘By day
YHVH will enjoin His love; in the night His song is with me”
[Psalms 42:9] as we have already
established…
Since the first day, it has never been fully revealed, but it plays a vital role in the world, renewing every
day the act of Creation!”
